It's Kynesha! / by Evey Sekajipo

Hello, I am Kynesha King. I was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I am the youngest of six and I enjoy every bit of being the “baby sister.”  I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in Youth Studies. I made my way to Tampa in the summer of 2015, with my lovely husband Evan. We moved here for a change of scenery and a fresh start. We welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Arielle, to our family last year. She has brought much joy to our lives and the lives of many others.

Mama Africana has really been a blessing to me. This sisterhood is very rewarding. I always have someone praying with me and for me. In the beginning, I became involved, to find a village of black women to study the gospel with. Now, I am able to share my passion and education, with young black girls, as a mama Africana mentor for Ebony Bridge and Ebony Gems.  I have always been passionate about the care and treatment of young black children. I believe this passion has come from witnessing the lack thereof in my community.

Though, I do enjoy being the youngest of my siblings, I am honored to have so many little sisters through Mama Africana. God has hand-picked specific girls for us to pour into.  It is a blessing to see them grow mentally and spiritually.
